Action in Our Community – STOP THE VIOLENCE September 2013

There are several opportunities for you to show your support and raise your voice in the battle to stop violence in our communities. Join this group as they gather at the North End Bell Tower and march through the north end in this annual event that has been going on for 35 years in our city  – CLICK HERE FOR FB EVENT

MEET ME @ THE BELL TOWER  (Intl Peace Days event with a march)

This week, we start at 5pm, have our regular bell tower associated with PEACE DAYS. Next, at 6pm, we ring the bell and we march around the neighbourhood arriving at Ralph Brown Community Centre (460 Andrews) in time to do some RESOURCE SHARING with one another. At 7pm, we will have a public PIPE CEREMONY (details TBA) inviting our entire community to join us in prayer for our missing and murdered relatives and neighbours – CLICK HERE FOR FACEBOOK EVENT

KOOKUM’S MEDICINE WALK (Ceremony & Medicine Walk)

This is the 7th annual event where grandmothers are reminding the community of their obligation to protect our children. Please join us at Circle of Life Thunderbird House for a Pipe Ceremony at 8:30am, and the march to St Johns Park beings at 11:30am! CLICK HERE FOR FB EVENT


The St John’s area recently experienced an influx of stories of exploitation on their streets and some even woithin their houses. If you live in the area, and want to get involved, CLICK HERE


This is the first time AYO is holding such an event but we are inviting you all to join us as we walk through the West End streets, with our medicines sharing the spirit with the streets and our people on the street.
